Apata is proud to announce Card Link Backup, a powerful new storage mode designed to keep your transactions flowing even when the unexpected happens. Meet Temp With Backup! 🎉

Available now in your Card Link settings, this enhancement extends the beloved Temp mode by introducing a 90-day backup cache for retrieved card details — giving you a seamless safety net when issuer responses don't come through. 💪

⚙️ How It Works

🗄️ Automatic Caching — When enabled, card details are temporarily cached and securely stored for 90 days.

🔄 Always Fresh — After every successful issuer response, the backup is automatically refreshed with the latest card data, so you're never working with stale information.

🚨 Intelligent Failover — In the event of a Card Link failure (i.e., no response received per API spec), Apata will automatically attempt to retrieve the latest card details from the backup — rather than failing the transaction outright.

✅ Graceful Recovery — If valid backup details are found, the transaction proceeds as normal. If not, the transaction errors out according to standard processing.

📌 Good to Know

Note: API responses indicating that a card is disabled or not enrolled (e.g., 400 responses) are not considered failures and will not trigger a backup retrieval. Backup is reserved for true connectivity failures only. 🎯

🚀 How to Enable

Getting started couldn't be easier — just two options:

🔧 Switch your existing storage mode from Temp → Temp With Backup in your Card Link configuration.
➕ Create a new Card Link setting on a corresponding range with the Temp With Backup mode enabled.
