Introducing Certificate Expiration Alarms
about 3 hours ago by Gleb Mendrul
๐ Proactive Certificate Monitoring
Never get caught off guard by an expired certificate again. Apata now proactively monitors your mTLS certificates and alerts you before they expire. ๐
Expired certificates mean failed authentications, dropped webhooks, and unexpected outages. Apata now tracks every mTLS certificate across your credentials, webhooks, and secrets - and sends you a heads-up well before anything expires. No more scrambling at the last minute. ๐ก๏ธ
โ๏ธ How It Works
- Daily Monitoring - Every day at 9:00 AM, Apata scans all enabled mTLS credentials, webhooks, and secrets for certificates expiring within the next 30 days. ๐
- Smart Notifications - Alerts are sent to your configured security contacts at both the organisation and FI level. If no security contacts are set up, our CS team is notified so they can reach out to you directly. โ
- Detailed Reports - Each notification includes a CSV attachment listing every expiring certificate with its source type, resource name, expiry date, and days remaining โ sorted by urgency.
๐ Good to Know
Disabled resources won't generate notifications. Only certificates linked to enabled credentials, webhooks, and secrets are monitored. Certificates tied to deleted FIs are excluded from reports.
๐ Getting Started
- Configure security contacts at the organisation or FI level to receive alerts directly
- If no contacts are configured, our CS team will still be notified and can reach out on your behalf
- Customer notifications include a link to our docs on how to replace certificates
